National Hygiene Week

Various Locations, Monday 14th September - Sunday 20th September

National Hygiene Week returns, 14th-20th September 2026 to raise awareness about the impact hygiene poverty is having in Ireland, but also to raise awareness about the unprecedented demand for our service, with 2026 on course to be the our busiest year to date.

National Hygiene Week, Hygiene Hub's annual nationwide campaign highlighting hygiene poverty and the difficult choices people are being forced to make between essential hygiene products and other basic needs.

Hygiene Hub is inviting individuals, schools, businesses and community groups across Ireland to get involved by donating products, fundraising or volunteering with their local Hub.

What Is Hygiene Poverty
Hygiene Poverty is the inability to afford many of the everyday essential hygiene items that most of us take for granted. It can look like one family sharing a toothbrush, or parents reusing dirty nappies, or being unable to wash clothes, sports kits and uniforms as often as is necessary.
